stupid principles

So a friend was supposed to come see me this weekend. He did… as did a few other people. Now my apartment is filled with empty bottles but I can’t really deal with it.. I’m having an exam in Social Sciences on Wednesday and it’s really a load of rubbish. I’m reading this article about some mambo jambo and even though I understand all the words there, it still comes out as complete Chinese. “The statistical summaries for the normative content analysis of draft act and their explanatory” ? Umh, hello ? Why would I read that ? It’s beyond boring. It’s slowly killing my brain. Minute by minute I feel my will to live drift away…

I also have a tragedy going on in my personal life. I have a few favourite cosmetic brands. I have always used them. For instance I only use a particular Biotherm antiperspirant because it’s pretty much the best it is out there. My favourite mascara is Hypnose by Lancome. It appears to be that both of those companies are owned by L’Oréal… a company famous for animal testing. I get that you don’t write that on the etiquette. Nevertheless the only thing that’s written on my deodorant is that it’s an alcohol free luxury product for hypo-allergenic people. Yeah. Very luxurious indeed.

And now I saw a commercial on TV how everybody should vaccinate themselves. This time it was for hepatitis. Now I am officially incapable of studying. Luckily Two and a Half Men is about to start so I’ll switch to that and go to sleep.

whisper low

A: He is majoring in neo-fascism at Colombia.

B: Economics.

A: Oh, semantics!

From some awkward film I accidentally came across for a moment. I felt I had to share this.

I wish it was snowing outside. I would want to stay in drinking red wine and listening to jazz music… it’s the time of year again when all I can do is have my winter dream on repeat in my mind. Oh well..

slow walking

I went online yesterday to see what was playing in the cinema. Did you know that The Saw has six films ? SIX FILMS ? Really ? That’s what ? Five and a half too many ? I don’t think I’m following… are they trying to compete with Home and Away ? Plus there are actually at least two more coming. Yeah.

Anyway. Want to know what you CAN’T see at the cinema ? Lars von Trier’s Antichrist!!!! Hello ???? This is probably one of THE films of 2009 and you can’t see it in Tartu! I’m skipping school on Thursday so I could make it to Tallinn to see the screening there. Neither are they showing Los abrazos rotos in Tartu… this is pretty tragic as well.

I don’t know how many of Almodóvar’s films have I seen but I dare to say the number isn’t too small. I have literally just watched a few of his films – in Spanish, without any subtitles. Without really understanding much… because his films are brilliant. Because I love what he does. And now you’re telling me that I can’t see it in Tartu ? This was supposed to be the city of good thoughts, the freaking city of intellectuals.  I’m sorry but I’m pretty certain the intellectuals here becoming extinct is only a matter of time…

Good news is both K. and H. gave birth to their babies this week! Come on, how awesome is this :) I mean, it’s awesome as hell as long as it’s not me, right ?
